METHOD 1: DIAPER METHOD

After your tattoo session, your artist will clean and wrap your tattoo with a sterile, diaper bandage.

Step 1:

  • Leave the bandage on for 12-24 hours to protect the tattoo from external elements and promote initial healing. (You can not take a shower with it, in order to avoid water ingress). If you see a release of liquid from under the compress or it accidentally peeled off and slipped, then it can be removed earlier.

Step 2:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattoo.
  • Carefully remove the bandage, ensuring not to pull or scrape the tattooed area.
  • Gently clean the tattoo using mild, soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry.

Step 3:

  • Take a small amount of cream (Aquaphor or Bepanten baby) and apply it to your clean hands.
  • Gently massage the cream onto the tattoo, making sure to cover the entire area with a thin, even layer.
  • Tape a new diaper compress (it is recommended to use compress sizes larger than the tattoo size by 5-10 cm in each direction to avoid slipping). Let the compress be a little loose so that the body can move comfortably.

After 12 hours, change the compress by repeating steps 2-3. Change compresses within 3 days.

After 3 days of care, you can refuse the compress. But on the tattoo site you need to continue to apply the cream for 10 days.

It is very important: do not wrap the tattoo in plastic wrap

METHOD 2: SECOND SKIN PATCH FOR HEALING

After tattoo artist applied the second skin patch.

Step 1.Leave the patch on for the recommended time:

  • Keep the patch on. It’s typically around 4-5 days.
  • Avoid exposing the patch to excessive moisture, such as swimming or prolonged showering.
  • Wash the skin around the skin patch regularly with soap.
  • On the first day, accumulation of liquid (lymph) under the foil is possible – this is normal, do not do anything, on the 3-4th day there will be no liquid.

Step 2. Remove the patch and clean the tattoo:

  • Gently remove the patch by peeling it off from one edge.
  • Clean the tattoo using mild, soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry.
  • Moisturize your skin with cream (Aquaphor Cream or Bepanten Baby) for 10 days.

ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR TATTOO CARE:

AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT: PROTECT YOUR HEALING TATTOO FROM PROLONGED SUN EXPOSURE, AS IT CAN CAUSE FADING AND DAMAGE. APPLY A HIGH SPF SUNSCREEN ONCE IT’S FULLY HEALED.

AVOID PICKING OR SCRATCHING: IT’S NORMAL FOR YOUR TATTOO TO ITCH DURING THE HEALING PROCESS.

KEEP IT MOISTURIZED: AFTER THE INITIAL HEALING PERIOD, CONTINUE MOISTURIZING YOUR TATTOO.
